DULUTH - Union Gospel Mission is seeing double the amount of clients visiting their food shelf and eating free meals from their kitchen. Staff there say the lack of donations and warmer temperatures bringing people back to the area who left to escape the brutal winter, is dwindling their food supply.

"We know that we need to continue to feed people and it's kind of discouraging and sad,” said Kerri Hauser with Union Gospel Mission. “But we're doing the best we can with what we have right now."

Union Gospel Mission's food shelf gives out a weeks’ worth of food to each client.

The non-profit serves free breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Friday and just dinner on the weekends.

They are in need of non–perishable food items and meat.

Donations can be dropped off or picked up, just give them a call.
