The Buffalo House

DULUTH - The Buffalo House is known for its food, but also as a place for sports tournaments, weddings and other events.

"Lots of softball," owner Shelly Stoynoff explained. "We have volleyball leagues, horseshoe leagues."

One of the biggest draws for people is that they can visit without worry because everything they need for the day is right there.

Like the buffalo, they have room to roam.

"They like the fact that they can camp here, have their wedding here, a lot of them have the actual ceremony here," Stoynoff said. "The softball players like the fact they can all camp here."

Stoynoff and her brother have taken over the business their dad created back in the 1970s.

Back then, the place had real, live buffaloes.

"It was kind of a crazy experience, but like I said, they got a way a few times and actually [we] made national news with that," she said.

You can expect a good experience here today.

On a nice day, the deck is filling up and people are having a good time.

It's exactly what the owners were hoping for.

"Just to provide a fun friendly atmosphere place for people to go and have a good time and relax and just get away, from the city or, just have fun."
