DULUTH- Duluth city councilor, Howie Hanson is working to change state gambling laws to build a city owned casino at the DECC, but those plans are put on hold for now.
Several councilors will not be at the next meeting and the newly elected councilors are not up to speed on all the issues involved with the casino debate.
Duluth City Council president, Linda Krug said, "on Monday Night we will table it. So that means that it will show up on the agenda. It will continue to show up on the agenda, and every meeting we will say, it's tabled, do we want to take it off the table."
The council eventually wants to have a meeting before voting on the measure, to talk about the possible DECC casino and pending legal battles with the Fond–Du–Luth casino.
