DULUTH - Imagine going almost a week without taking a hot shower or being able to wash dishes.
That's what life is like for people living in the Gateway Tower apartment building in downtown Duluth.
According to the management company, Sherman Associates out of Minneapolis, it's a custom part that's causing the problem.
A company in Indiana is working to create a new one.
Hot water stopped running on July 5, and since then tenants have been doing what they can to get by.
"Having to boil water to try and take a bath, to clean up,” said 2 ½ year Gateway resident, Teresa Clement. “There's a lot of people who aren't getting dishes done or have to boil water just for doing dishes. It does make things difficult."
Management says the part should be in Duluth Friday, and is set to be installed right away.
