CLOQUET – Animals were in action at the Cloquet Public Library. Kids got cozy with the critters as part of the Paws to Read program.
This summer the program will focus on books about animals and Northwood’s creatures.
Kids got a taste of real wildlife with an owl, chinchilla, python and tortoise from the Lake Superior Zoo.
"Kids need more contact with nature and in a small way this peaks their interest,” Cloquet Public Library children’s librarian Lisbeth Boutang said. “Then perhaps they'll go out on their own and take their parents and look in our beautiful woods and see what they can find."
The Paws to Read program is free and open to the public.
