Tips For Fireworks Safety

DULUTH- If you plan to set off fireworks this weekend, first responders want you to use the holiday favorites
responsibly.

They say, read all warnings before lighting them and make sure to follow good safety practices.

Firefighter Aaron Bujold said, "Have a good idea what the wind's going to be like so you have an idea where they are going to land. It's pretty dry out right now so make sure you have an extinguishing source available so you don't start any fires. And just overall safe practices. Don't be lighting off any fireworks in your hands and don't point them at anybody else."

Bujold also said to limit the number of alcoholic beverages you're taking in if you plan to set off fireworks.

For those watching the fireworks from their boats, make sure to stay far enough from the barge to avoid any debris or sparks.
