Former Corrections Officer to Stand Trial for Alleged Assaults

ITASCA COUNTY - A trial date has been set for a former correctional officer accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old female inmate.
Devin Wood, 23, will be on trial in Itasca County starting July 16.
He has been charged with five counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct.
Wood worked at the North Homes Juvenile Correctional Facility in Grand Rapids.
Prosecutors say the assaults happened April 10-12 in the inmate's cell.
Wood is currently incarcerated at the Itasca County Jail.
