Organizers Say Race Day Was Great for Grandma's

DULUTH- Organizers tell us it was a great race and it came off without a hitch.

The weather was great and we're told the conditions were prime for personal records.

PR director, Bob Gustafson said, "it's been a picture perfect day. From a runners standpoint, a great day to run weather wise. We had the overcast skies with a little bit of fog, a little bit of mist, a little slight tailwind. It was pretty much a perfect day and as Dick Beardsley told me after the course record was broken, it was the exact same kind of a day as it was when he set the course record back in 1981."

Since the race is on Saturday organizers are pleased to offer a venue for runners and fans to a place to have a good time once the race is over.

"We're excited about the bands that we have set up for the entertainment. You know, it's one of those things where the post–race relief kind of hits people, where they after months and months of training, they can now relax and celebrate, and deservedly so."

The next daunting task for the crews is the clean–up effort.
Organizers say it will take a week before all remnants of grandma's will be gone.
