Structure Fire in Superior Tuesday Morning
SUPERIOR - At 7:16 this morning on Christmas Eve, the Superior Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire at 1714 Lackawanna.
All occupants were able to safely exit the home.
Crews reported light smoke showing at the rear of the structure.
The fire was located and contained to an exterior wall and the attic area above a kitchen addition.
Initial damage estimate is set at $15,000.
Cause of the fire was overheated electrical wiring, due to electric space heaters being used while waiting for parts for the failed heating system.
The family of 4 is temporarily displaced from the home and they were headed to a grandmother's house.
Salvation Army in Superior has been contacted.
Three Engine companies and one command car responded to the fire.
No injuries were reported.
Last companies cleared the scene at 8:56.
