Plans For New Upscale Hotel in Superior

SUPERIOR - In just one year, the City of Superior could have a brand new, upscale hotel.
Plans for a nearly $9 million Hampton Inn and Suites are currently in the works.
Superior is hoping for the 75 room hotel to sit on the corner of Highway 53 and Highway 2.
The development is considered to be a mid to up-scale hotel with rates in the $90 to $100 range per night.
The plan is to build the Hampton Inn and Suites between the Perkins Restaurant and the Bong Center, just down the street from Barker's Island Inn.
Planners believe this location is the perfect spot for out of town tourists and business workers to stay in the City of Superior.
If all goes accordingly, planners are hoping to start construction this fall and be up and running by next year's tourist season.
The Superior City Council is set to vote on this project on Tuesday.
