Man Accused of Trying to Kill Superior Officer to Undergo Mental Evaluation

SUPERIOR - A Superior man accused of trying to kill a police officer will now have undergo a mental evaluation.
Thirty year old Gregory Thompson is charged with attempted first–degree intentional homicide and three other charges.

Police say an officer was trying to arrest Thompson while he was drunk and out of control.

That's when officials say he tried to use a knife and then the officer's gun to quote "kill" that officer.

Thompson will have a competency hearing on July 8th.
