"Chester Day" Celebrated With Mustaches at Glensheen Mansion

DULUTH - There were more moustaches around town today.

The Glensheen Historic Estate is celebrating Chester Congdon's birthday on Thursday by giving free grounds and garden tours, along with free general admission to those with a Chester-influenced mustache.

Duluth Mayor Don Ness also proclaimed Thursday Chester Day.

"The reason we decided to this is we decided to uncover more and more history about Chester that really shows he's a phenomenal person in helping develop our entire region," Dan Hartman from the Glensheen Histroic Estate said. 

Chester Congdon, who originally lived at the Glensheen Mansion, would have turned 161 years old Thursday.
