PIKE LAKE - St. Louis County commissioners are working to approve three new places to produce brine.
It is a salt water substance that helps salt stick to the roads in the winter.
Currently, Brookston, Cotton, and Meadowlands are the only three plow hubs in the county without the brine system.
"The reason why St. Louis County has taken so long to catch up is because of the large investment," explained St. Louis County Public Works Fleet Manager, Chad Skelton.
All three production systems would cost more than $70,000.
