Duluth Public Library Kicks Off Summer Reading Programs
By:
DULUTH - Duluthians and their four-legged friends showed up to the Duluth Public Library Monday for a night full of fun.
The library held a 'Paws on the Plaza' event to kick off its summer reading programs.
There was a cutest pet contest and silly trick contest judged by Sunrise at Seven anchor Dana Thayer, a pet photo booth and more, all to encourage people to engage in reading this summer.
"Over the summer a lot of kids and teens, they lose a lot of the literacy that they've built up over the school year. So, we try to make it fun to read and something that you actually want to do by giving incentives and prizes," said librarian Richmond Kinney.
There are reading programs for children, teens and adults.
All programs start today and end August 15.
You can sign up online or at one of the Duluth Public Library locations.
