Tinsel Twister Opens at Spirit Mountain

DULUTH - Friday evening, marks the opening of Spirit Mountain’s winter themed Tinsel Twister.

The track speeds down the hill, through the woods, with Christmas lights set up along the way.

Overall, the early December snow helped out skiers and snowboarders, but caused the Tinsel Twister to run a week late.

“We actually have to hand dig the track out,” explained Erika Osterman, the manager of Adventure Park at Spirit Mountain.

“We don't have anything to put on the coaster carts to plow that out so we have to hand dig everything, and everything was at least knee deep,” she said.

The ride is most entertaining at night.

The coaster will run through the end of January.
