Spirit Mountain Celebrates the Winter Solstice

DULUTH - The winter solstice doesn't only mean the shortest day of the year, but the first day of winter.
Saturday, Spirit Mountain they celebrated the solstice by offering $10 lift tickets to anyone dressing up in holiday attire.
Santa clause, elves, and the Grinch hit the slopes overlooking the city of Duluth.
“Well it's a little nod to the winter solstice,” explained executive director of Spirit Mountain, Renee Mattson. “We start gaining hours again of course so, we celebrate that at Spirit Mountain."
The deal was one day only.
The slopes open Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m.
