SUPERIOR - Douglas County is celebrating a big win when it comes to visitor spending in 2013.
The Chamber of Commerce reported Tuesday that there was a 10 percent jump in spending compared to 2012, which is the largest increase of all 72 counties in Wisconsin.
"Tourism is a major industry for us up here in the Northland. It is something that we take very seriously. We're very proud of because we have so many attributes really to promote," said Dave Minor, Superior-Douglas Co. Chamber of Commerce president.
As for 2014, officials are expecting even better spending because of this winter's attractive ice caves.
