Foundation Gives Scholarships For Arts

DULUTH- Three local high school students were honored for their hard work by the blue bird foundation.

For the first time the foundation handed out three scholarships to help students pursue their love of the arts.

Bluebird Foundation President, Tracy Lundeen said, "helping kids is never the wrong thing to do. Whether it's with self–esteem or to give them a little boost financially, if they come from a circumstance where they can't, or just to help them grow a gift."

Lundeen said he believed that having access to art enhances people's lives.

He says the kids have told him again and again that they were going through tough times, they'd go back to their art.
