Severe Weather Awareness Week

DULUTH - It may be hard to believe but summer and thunderstorms are right around the corner and Monday marked the start of Severe Weather Awareness Week.
While most thunderstorms aren't severe you need to know where to go in your house during a tornado warning and have alternate plans if you're not near shelter.
The National Weather Service wants you to be prepared for the worst at any time or place.
“Have a way to get the weather, wherever you are. Whether you are fishing, or running or biking, whatever you are doing have a way to get the weather," said Carol Christenson of The National Weather Service in Duluth.
The highlight of severe weather week is on Thursday the National Weather service will issue a severe thunderstorm watch, warning, and even a tornado warning at 6:55 pm.
