Students Serve Duluth Organizations

DULUTH - Some Northland students got out of the classroom and into local non–profits. Lakeview Christian Academy 6th-12th graders spent the day serving Wednesday.

As part of their month long focus on community outreach, they prepared food, helped out workers and cleaned at the Salvation Army, Encounter and Edgewood Vista.

"We really felt a call to give back to the community that served us,” Lakeview Christian Academy teacher Jeremy Canfield said. “So we can serve them and just show Gods love to them too."

Students are also collecting non–perishable food items this month to help re–stock Salvation Army's food shelf.
