DULUTH - People across the world and here in the Northland are raising awareness about how important water really is.
Demonstrations on things like ground pollutants were just part of what was on display at UMD Tuesday as students celebrate World Water Week.
The message students hope to get out is to respect a vital resource.
"If we destroy our water we're never going to be able to use it and we only have one planet to live on so we might as well respect the most important thing on the planet," UMD student Cody Torgerson said.
A pile of plastic bottles also on display showed how many are used daily on the UMD campus.
It served as encouragement for people to get re–usable water bottles.
