Pine Co. Man Charged with Sending White Powder to Courthouse in Envelopes
PINE CITY - A Braham, Minnesota man is now facing 23 charges for allegedly sending envelopes with a white powder to the Pine County Courthouse last month and for making other threats.
Authorities also accuse 45–year–old Johnnie Long of planting homemade devices that were made to look like bombs and placed at various locations to cause fear.
He's now facing two counts of acquiring real or simulated weapons of mass destruction, nine counts of threats involving real or simulated weapons of mass destruction, eight counts of terroristic threats-reckless disregard for risk, two charges of falsely reporting a crime, a charge of terroristic threats with explosives/incendiary device and a count of crimes committed in the furtherance of terrorism.
Long's bail is set at $1 million without conditions and $500,000 with conditions.
