DULUTH - The 8th annual Lake Superior Lawmen Charity Classic kicked–off at the Heritage Sports Center Friday with 24 teams made up of police officers, firefighters and military personnel from all over the Midwest and Canada. The lawmen tossed around the puck to raise at least $10,000 for Duluth's Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute.
"They are basically providing opportunities to young adults and people of all ages,” Lake Superior Lawmen Hockey Team Co-chair Todd Kuusisto said. “An opportunity of a lifetime that they're not usually able to do."
The tournament runs through March 15.
It's free and open to the public.
