Duluth City Council Approves Loan for Purchase of Seaway Hotel

DULUTH – The Duluth City Council has approved a loan agreement between the Duluth Economic Development Authority and the Housing and Redevelopment Authority for the purchase of the troubled Seaway Hotel.
Councilors passed the resolution 8-1.
The loan may not exceed $230,000.
The HRA plans to hire a management company that specializes in working with people with criminal backgrounds and mental health issues.
The HRA also want to open up the bottom floor for commercial development and give the hotel a new name.
