Vertical Endeavors Hosts North Shore Style Climbing Competition

DULUTH - Rock climbers showed off their skills today at Vertical Endeavors in Canal Park.

They hosted the 8th Annual North Shore Style Climbing Competition. 

This is one of the biggest climbing competitions in the state.

There were 100 competitors at the competition Saturday.

Serious climbers from all over attended, but there were many divisions so new climbers could compete too.

Vertical Endeavors is always urging new climbers to stop in.

"It's an awesome sport. If you really get into it you can travel the entire world and climb all different places, all different countries. It's just a welcoming atmosphere," said manager Bill Rusk.

The top three men and women won awards and any money gathered from raffles goes to the Minnesota Climbers Association.
