DULUTH - For the first time, Duluth's so-called Graffiti Graveyard was gated shut Friday.
Workers with the Minnesota Department of Transportation started installing the gate early Friday under I-35 behind the Depot.
For decades, Graffiti Graveyard was a homeless camp. But the city said violence, frequent police calls and health concerns forced them to shut it down in November.
Since then, homeless advocates say people who lived there have since found new shelter and better places to live.
