Super Bowl DWI Patrols To Increase

DULUTH-Northland law enforcement agents are going to be ramping up their DWI patrols on game–day with the goal of having zero traffic fatalities.

Minnesota has had zero alcohol-related traffic fatalities on game day for the last five years and they are aiming for a sixth.
Wisconsin had three game day traffic fatalities last year.
Both states say they will be doing all they can to keep the roads safe tomorrow.

Sgt. Chad Nagorski said, "If you are going to go out, we want you to have a good time, but we want you to also be safe. And if you are even considering drinking make sure you have somebody who can give you a sober ride home.

Law enforcement officers say to stay safe on game day you should arrange for a sober ride like a designated driver or call a cab.

They say if you are too drunk to drive, stay at the location you are at.

For those hosting parties, authorities say offer plenty of non–alcoholic drinks.

And of course they say call 911, if you see anyone driving dangerously.

Authorities in Wisconsin also encourage people to download the "Zero in Wisconsin app"
It features a blood–alcohol estimator, helps you to find a ride, and has many other tools to help you get home safely.
