DULUTH - It might be cold outside, but that doesn't mean you can't still do a favorite summertime activity!
The Lake Superior Zoo is a cold weather zoo.
All of the animals there are adapted for the cold weather.
When temperatures drop below zero they have many options.
Some animals can go into a temperature threeshold, some get locked inside and they are provided with heated rocks and straw in their displys.
"They have a lot of the natural things that they need. You know, extra fur that they grow throughout the winter time to deal with our colder temperatures," said head zookeeper Maicie Sykes.
The animals at the Lake Superior Zoo are actually more active during the winter months.
