BAYFIELD, Wis. – Those hoping to check out the ice caves this winter may get their chance.
According to the Facebook page for the Apostle Islands Ice Caves some ice has been ripped away by the wind but their best guess for when they will open to foot traffic is between February 1st and 10th.
They also report four straight days of sub–zero night temperatures has led to ice beginning to form all the way out to the outermost islands.
If the ice caves form, visitors will be charged a $5 fee.
