SUPERIOR, Wis. - Swimmers at Superior High School packed the pool to support a long time teacher and coach Thursday evening.
George Lehman was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease last year.
As part of a senior project, a handful of swimmers organized a fundraiser for him.
They sold t-shirts, had a raffle, and showed support for their coach who continues to dedicate his life to doing what he loves.
"It's just inspiring to see how much that he puts into this and how much effort he puts in,” said senior swimmer and event organizer, Morgen Moen. “It really drives us to put everything out when we have meets and at practice."
The students estimate they raised more than $1,000 that will be donated to Parkinson’s research.
