ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP)- The Minnesota State Patrol is urging people to drive responsibly in bad weather conditions after 4 squads were hit.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports there were 855 accidents along snowy and icy roadways between 8 a.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday across Minnesota.

That includes 600 spin-outs and four state patrol squad collisions.

Non involved serious injuries but 110 people sustained minor injuries.

The number dwarfs the 200 accidents that took place during the same time last winter.

State Patrol officials are asking drivers to travel at speeds reflective of their conditions, to use safer traveling distances and to avoid distractions and consuming chemical substances prior to driving.

The Minnesota State Patrol's Lt. Tiffani Nelson says poor weather makes it harder to correct bad driving habits
