Some New Year's resolutions have people heading to the doctor.Whether it's a promise to lose weight or perk up your appearance, dermatologists say you can get the look you want without surgery. Dermatologists say the natural look is in.People looking to improve their appearance no longer have to get drastic changes.Doctors say new fillers and injections can turn back the clock without surgery."People are coming in not to just turn back the clock, they're looking, you know, not just to look more beautiful, they actually want their skin to be more healthy," said Dr. Whitney Bowe, a dermatologist.Dr. Bowe says these treatments can be done every few years and help people avoid going under the knife. She says the results appear more natural and may benefit the patient in more ways than one."Once you see the effects and you look in the mirror and you see that confidence, you look at the person and you like the person who's looking back at you, you're much more likely to stick to larger goals," said Dr. Bowe.Dr. Bowe says undergoing this type of work may make both men and women feel better about themselves and their lives in general."It's not vanity that brings these people to my office, it's more of that sort of, 'I'm not going to sit around and complain about it and be unhappy and miserable. I'm going to do something about it,'" she said. "Men find that it really does give them sort of an edge when it comes to their career. They say that if they look old, if they look tired, then the things that they say and the ideas that they present are sometimes perceived as old and tired."Dr. Bowe says three years ago men comprised about 10 percent of her practice. Now, they are about 30 percent.
