DULUTH - The University of Minnesota-Duluth student who nearly froze to death in early December has made it through her second big surgery.
Early Tuesday morning, doctors performed amputations on Alyssa Lommel, 19.
They removed her fingers and thumbs below the knuckles.
Lommel already had some of her toes amputated earlier this month, but she should be able to walk normally.
She's scheduled to leave the hospital in mid-February.
