DULUTH, Minn.- Nearly 35 kids, ages 4-14, started their new year by heading to pike lake to kickoff the Ice Racing season.Racers competed on up to 13 different classes of snowmobiles.Organizers say kids enjoy more than just the competition."They like to be on the sleds. The like to race. They like tow in. They like to work on the sleds. I think it's the engines," said KCPROEast President, Mike Podgornik.David Anderson, 14 year old Ice Racer, says he enjoys the friendly competition."All the friends and stuf that are here. You make new friends every year because there are a bunch of new kids that come," Anderson said. The next race is next week in Grand Rapids.
