DULUTH, Minn. - When you see it most of us probably won't believe it. For the first time since 2009 gas prices have dropped to under $2.00 in the Twin Ports.
The price of gas at the holiday gas station in Scanlon was $1.99 Monday afternoon. They lowered the price Sunday afternoon, and say customers couldn't be happier.
Store workers say the lower prices put smiles on customer’s faces, and dollars back in their pockets.
"Especially people with big trucks they'll come in saying it would usually be over $100 dollars,” said assistant manager of the Scanlon Holiday Station, Sara Sorenson. “Now I'm only filling up for around $50 so they're definitely happy about that."
Holiday workers say they wouldn't be surprised if prices continued to drop through the New Year.
