DULUTH - Construction is complete at Duluth’s Steve O'Neil Apartments and the first families moved in Wednesday.
“Just take a big deep breath and look out the window and know that you're home safe at last," said Lee Stuart, CHUM's executive director.
Thousands of dollars worth of donations have poured into the building to provide everything a person would need in a home.
CHUM officials say move-in day is the start of another long road to end homelessness in Duluth, and gives people a home for the holidays."There's dishes, there's new shower curtains, there's new towels,” listed Stuart. “Things that people have been raising money for through the registry.”
Many apartments still need a table and chairs.
