Public Shares Ideas for Chester Park Ski Jump Memorial

DULUTH, Minn. - The City of Duluth searched for input and ideas on how to memorialize the Chester Park Ski Jump.Community members met at the Central Hillside Community Center to brainstorm Wednesday.The ideas will be passed on to artists who have been selected to develop concepts for the memorial.The city specifically wanted to hear from former ski jumpers and people who have used the park."We want to hear their stories to ensure that whatever this comes to look like is something that is truly reflective of the experience that they actually lived and that future generations can look at and perhaps gain just a glimpse into what a wonderful time that was," said Paula Reed, with the City of Duluth.The artists will present their final proposals early next year.
