Superior Police Search for Man who Held up Spur at Knife Point

SUPERIOR, Wis. – Superior Police investigating a Thursday evening armed robbery at the Belknap Spur located at 615 Belknap Street.
The suspect brandished a large knife during the incident and fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.
On Thursday, December 4, 2014, at approximately 8:00 PM, officers from the Superior Police Department responded to the
Belknap Spur gas station, located at 615 Belknap Street, reference an armed robbery, at knife point, that had occurred several minutes prior.
Responding officers were let into the locked store by the lone male clerk that had been robbed. Initial information was gathered from the clerk and video surveillance that was accessed.
The suspect is a white male, approximately 20-23 years old, 5'8" to 5'10" tall, and wearing a dark colored stocking cap and dark colored "puffy" jacket.
The suspect brought an item up to the clerk as if to purchase it and can be seen on the surveillance video with a large knife in his right hand.
The clerk opened the cash register and then stood back while the suspect reached into the drawer and removed the cash.
The suspect then ordered the clerk into the bathroom and told him to remain there for twenty (20) minutes before coming out.
The suspect verbally threatened the clerk before directing him into the bathroom.
The clerk was not harmed in this incident.
The police department is seeking information from anyone that was in the area that may have witnessed this incident or seen the suspect.
If someone recognizes the suspect from the attached video/still photos they are asked to contact the Superior Police Department at any of the various methods listed at the bottom of this release.
As with previous robbery incidents the public and store employees are urged to be cooperative with the demands of the robber.
Not complying will simply increase the chance for a confrontation and potentially serious injury.
