RICE LAKE TOWNSHIP, Minn. - An investigation was underway Wednesday night after two people, including a young girl, were found dead inside a camper in Rice Lake Township.

The bodies of a 39-year-old man and an 11-year-old girl were discovered inside the fifth-wheel camper around 6:55 p.m. on the 4700 block of 5th Avenue South.

A 15-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy were also inside the camper and transported to Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth for medical treatment.  Their conditions were not known as of 12:30 a.m. Thursday.

The Rice Lake Township Volunteer Fire Department reported carbon monoxide levels in the camper to be "high" when they arrived on scene, and a generator was located near the camper.

The causes of the deaths are under investigation by the St. Louis County Medical Examiner's Office.

The names of the victims will be released pending family notification.
