Vikre Distillery Celebrates New Cocktail Room

DULUTH, Minn. - Duluth's first legal distillery since prohibition celebrated the grand opening of its cocktail room Friday.Vikre Distillery in Canal Park has been open for less than a year offering tastings and tours, and now it's offering an extension of that experience.The owners recently got a license to open the space, but it requires they use their own spirits, so they're making everything from scratch."We have things like raspberry rhubarb-infused gin with earl gray tea syrup, lemon juice, or our cedar gin with grapefruit rosemary syrup and house made grapefruit bitters. So it's going to be a fun, experimental, flavor-driven cocktail room," said Emily Vikre, co-owner of the distillery.Over time, the owners hope to sell their house made bitters and tonic.
