GILE, Wis. - Gile and Hurley have received several feet of snow in just over one week. The snow will continue to fall, as a lake effect snow advisory remained in effect Wednesday night. The small town of Gile has received more than 73 inches of snow so far, said FOX 21 Meteorologist Britley Ritz.In a normal winter season, Duluth averages 86.1 inches and International Falls averages 70.8 inches, according to Ritz."I've never seen this much snow in my life", said Ricardo Luna, a business owner in Gile.Luna is a Texan who has only lived in Gile for one year.Homeowners say the biggest problem so far is keeping snow off the roofs of homes. People are already shoveling them off to prevent them from collapsing.Peg Sutherland has lived in Gile for 34 years and says she loved every bit of the wacky weather."I said I wanted snow and a lake and I didn't care where. I have snow and I have a lake at the end of the street. So, I got everything I wished for," said Sutherland. Those who call the small communities of Hurley and Gile home know it can get kind of crazy in the winter. But activities still go on and schools are still in session."Bring it on, bring it on, nothing you can do about it. If you don't like it, don't live here," Stutz laughed.
