VIRGINIA, Minn. - Businesses in the Northland have already started to prepare for the holiday rush.Employees at Pep's Bake Shop in Virginia say they are consistently busy, but the holidays bring in an extra push for their sales. With holiday gifts come more holiday treats and Pep's is already stocking up.They also bring in new holiday treats to their menu."Big thing is making sure we have everything we need. The big thing we sell is cookie treats so we have to make sure we have everything in stock. I start making a list of all the cookies we need to make. Sometimes, we make some new stuff like this year we are doing a cranberry orange cookie and those are really good," said Allison Collins, the store's assistant manager.Pep's is open 5 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday and 5 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday.
