SUPERIOR - The attorney for a Superior woman who claims she was assaulted by a police officer is demanding that officer be charged.
Bayfield County special prosecutor Frederick Bourg recently decided not to charge Officer George Gothner in the case.
He said Natasha Lancour resisted arrest which gave Gothner the authority to use force.
But Lancour's attorney, Rick Gondik, is asking him to reconsider his decision.
In a memo to Bourg, Gondik called the decision a "travesty of justice" and said it was an "injustice to all of the law enforcement officers who exercise restraint and professionalism while in the line of duty every day."
Gondik is giving Bourg until Nov. 14 to respond.
