Military Funeral Funding Restored

DULUTH - Families of veterans will no longer have to worry about the risk of not having a traditional military funeral. A few weeks ago, legislators cut a majority of funding for the military funeral honors program, and veterans across the country were crushed. Thursday evening, the Pentagon announced it will restore the money and fix the 2015 budget to accommodate."It's a small thing,” said disabled Army veteran, Joel Heller. “They give you the flag. They give you taps. They give you 21 gun salute, but it's not the taps and the flag. It is a chance for this country to say, 'hey thank you for what you did.'" Friday afternoon, Congressman Rick Nolan talked with veterans about the decision and thanked them for their service.
