DULUTH- The Lake Superior Zoo is giving people a chance to get as close to having their own baby lemur as possible.
The zoo is letting the public choose the names for their new baby lemurs.
There are four babies to name; one boy and three girls.
Choices for the male name are:
Killian- Little Warlike One
Riley- Loving, affectionate, compassionate.
Choices for the three females:
Aidan- Little fiery one
Caley-Slender
Felana* -Petal
London- Wild & bold
Lorelei-Dependable, conservative
Siobhan-Freedom, loving, adventurous
(*Malagasy name)
Almost all the names are of Celtic origin.
Zookeeper, Emily Pann said, "it would be nice to have something to call them. They've been here for three months now, so we would really like to have some names, so we can know who they are and more relationship building with them."
In order to vote, go to the booth at the train depot, pay one dollar and put your vote in the bucket.
Voting is only open during the 2 "Boo at the Zoo" events.
The names will be announced October 24th at the world lemur festival.
