SUPERIOR - Monday evening, families in Superior got the chance to learn about Lake Superior while also having fun and winning prizes.
The City of Superior environmental services hosted the first ever Protect Our Water Fun Fair.
Local businesses and organizations teamed up to host games, and hand out prizes with the goal to teach kids why it's important to take care of our lakes and fish."What we do on land effects water,” explained event organizer, Wendy Grethen. “Whether you're a one year old or a senior citizen we all make a difference and can effect the water quality."
The event also had a list of things not to flush including tissues, wipes, diapers, towels, toys, cigarette butts, rubber items such as latex cloves, kitty litter, sponges, dental floss, cotton balls, wrappers, clothing labels, medicine, paint, hazardous waste, and food.
