Police: Man Assaulted Woman on Mesabi Bike Trail

HIBBING – Police are searching for a man who they said assaulted a woman on the Mesabi Bike Trail.It happened Saturday, Sept. 27 around 3 p.m. near the 16th Avenue East entrance.A woman was jogging when a man suddenly tackled her and held her to the ground, according to police.Another walker on the trail heard what was going on, approached the scene and then the suspect ran off into the woods. The woman did not request any medical attention and no weapons were involved, according to police. The suspect is described as being in his 20's or 30's with straight hair down to his ears.
