Three Plead Guilty in Twin Ports Meth Bust
SUPERIOR - Three plead guilty in Federal court to charges of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office/Superior Police Department Narcotics Unit conducted an extensive investigation involving the illegal distribution of methamphetamine in the area.
The following have pled guilty this month in United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin:
Jill Leann Welsh (47) South Range, Wisconsin
Brady Wayne Holmes (48) Glendale, Arizona
Robyn Glenna Reed (49) Glendale, Arizona
The investigation involved the seizure of approximately seven pounds of methamphetamine with a street value of more than $460,000.
Historically, the trio conspired to traffic nearly 50 pounds of methamphetamine into the Twin Ports area since September 2012 until the time of their arrests in March 2014. Assets seized for forfeiture include cash and real property valued at $220,600.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office/Superior Police Department Narcotics Unit was assisted by the Wisconsin Department of Justice – Division of Criminal Investigation, Mulvane (KS) Police Department, Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission, Duluth (MN) Police Department, FBI, DEA, Phoenix (AZ) HIDTA, Kansas City (MO) Police Department, Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Elizabeth Altman.
Jill Welsh will be sentenced November 13, 2014
Robyn Reed will be sentenced December 2, 2014
Brady Holmes will be sentenced December 4, 2014
