SUPERIOR - A group working to keep young professionals in the Twin Ports is celebrating its one year anniversary.

The Superior Young Professionals group started last September.

Since their kick off, they've gained 500 members and held numerous networking events with the hope of bringing the community closer together.

"We're from a community where the young professionals they grow up here and then they move away and they don't come back,” explained board member, Brent Fennessey. “Our main goal is to try and retract and retain those young professionals so that they stay here."

In the past year, the young professionals hosted five professional development lunch events.

Topics ranged from financial planning, economic development, community involvement and keys to being a successful leader.

They also hosted three social events including a Murder Mystery at the Fairlawn Mansion.
