Registration Opens For John Beargrease Race

CARLTON- Black Bear Casino was buzzing with excitement Sunday afternoon.That's because the John Beargrease sled dog race is back.
Mushers came from all over to register for the race.
One lucky winner even got free entry into the race if they registered in person at Black Bear.
Organizers say it's going to be a tough competition this year.
Beargrease President, Jason Rice said, "our defending champion, who won rookie of the year at the Iditarod last year right after having defended his title in the Beargrease, he's back here today to sign up again. Nathan Schroeder, so we're really proud and excited."
Organizers say there will be some new features this year.
There's a new website, www.beargrease.com, where people can get all the information they need.
They say with increased prizes and more time to plan, fans and mushers can expect a great race.
